Indigenous Matis Bow and Arrows

Bow made of a single piece of Pona Wood. Thread made of
chambira palm tree leaf.

Arrows made of bamboo blade, chambira palm leaf thread, bee
propolis glue, vulture feather, and an unknown wood.

Underside of the bamboo is covered in achiote dye.

Obtained from federal rangers who protect the tribe’s land from
trespassers. The Matis live using their natural ways to this day,
hunting and gathering.
