Nilchei, often called “Mapacho” in Peru, is a plant that has been widely manipulated and misunderstood. For thousands of years Native Americans on both of the American continents used Nilchei as a shamanic healer and protector plant. The spirit of the Nilchei plant has a grandfather type essence, and can be most easily communicated with when coming from a grounded, calm, and centered place. How Nilchei is used now is not what it was intended for. Nilchei is most often used in a ritualistic setting to protect, ground, and help focus the user on what is present, right here and now. To get the best results out of your Peruvian Nilchei, set aside a 15-30 minute window to be fully present with the plant in order to get clear communication from the spirit. This plant is very powerful, and helps greatly in aiding focus, concentration, and single mindedness. Find what works best for you, start slow, and ask for guidance and protection.
